Pier
. . .
-
Project
is essentially complete. Recently, power and site/pier lighting
have been turned on.
-
Remaining
items to be completed include installation of a properly sized security gate,
some miscellaneous electrical work, general start-up and performance
testing of the jib crane, sewer pumps, etc. and general punchlist work
some of which is pending spring weather.
-
UNH
researchers are utilizing pier; however, vessels really cannot berth
at the pier until power is available on the floating docks.
-
A
U.S. Coast Guard vessel recently berthed at the pier overnight,
waiting to escort an LNG tanker into port.
-
The
NOAA SWATH research vessel, which will be home-ported at the UNH pier,
is expected in spring of 2009.
Pier Support
Facility & Site Utilities . . .
-
Majority
of on-site underground utility work (i.e. water, sewer, storm
drainage, electrical & communications ductbanks) is complete.
-
PSNH
have moved their utilities into the new underground ductbank system
and swapped over the Coast Guard services to the new feeds. We
are waiting for Comcast to do the same so we can remove the old
overhead lines that run across the Town Landing and the UNH cove.
-
The
foundation
for barn structure with public restrooms is complete. Effort is
now shifting to the foundation for the bulk feed storage building.
-
After
a long, hard winter, things should start to move a bit more quickly
now.
